You don't need a dehydrator to make banana chips! These crispy, crunchy, and sugar-free chips are made from sliced bananas baked at a low oven temperature until completely dry. Of course, if you want them sweet, add sugar — you can also add any flavor you like, such as cinnamon, cocoa powder, or salt. These are a great snack or addition to your morning cereal.
Sugar-Free Banana Chips [Vegan]
- 4 ripe bananas
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- Preheat the oven to 195°F.
- Prepare two baking trays with baking paper. Place the lemon juice with a little water in a bowl. Cut the banana into thin slices, preferably with a mandoline. The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips. Toss them with water and lemon juice and place them side by side on the board. If you want to add flavor, such as cinnamon, cocoa powder, or salt, add it now.
- Bake for about 90 minutes and then turn the slices. Bring back to the oven for another 90 minutes. The chips are ready when they are completely dry.
- Let cool, remove the tray, and store in a jar or airtight container.
