Ingredients You Need for Healthy Black Bean Quinoa Burgers [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

For the Burgers:

  • 1-15 ounce can of black beans
  • 1/3-1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free oats
  • 3/4 cup cooked quinoa
  • Pinch salt + pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (or more, to your tastes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

For the Tahini Lime Dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons natural runny tahini
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Serve With:

  • Buns
  • Avocado
  • Lettuce
  • Pickles
  • Whatever you'd like

How to Prepare Healthy Black Bean Quinoa Burgers [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

  1. Make quinoa and let cool.
  2. Put oats in food processor and pulse until textured flour is formed, add to large bowl for mixing.
  3. Drain and rinse black beans, pulse in food processor until broken up and mashed looking, add to bowl.
  4. Roughly chop and measure mushrooms and onion, place in food processor and pulse until tiny minced looking, add to bowl.
  5. Add quinoa to bowl. Add spices. Using spoon or hands mix the ingredients up really well and form large burger patties.
  6. Using a non-stick pan or sprayed pan, heat it to medium heat and place the burgers in the skillet. let cook until golden brown and crispy (5-10 minutes) and then carefully flip and cook other side!
  7. Serve with suggestions listed.
  8. pre- cook and store in the freezer up to three months, re-heat in microwave.
