Beastly Black Bean Burgers [Vegan]
- 1/2 cup uncooked quinoa
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
- 1 can of black beans
- 2 tablespoons garlic tahini
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Rinse quinoa then add it to a medium-sized pot with the 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil then reduce the heat to low, cover and allow the quinoa to simmer until all of the water has been absorbed.
- Rinse your black beans, then use a fork to mash them in a large bowl. Stir all ingredients together until combined then refrigerate for four hours or overnight.
- Once the mixture is chilled form it into four evenly sized patties. At this point, you can choose to freeze the patties, refrigerate them for easy access, or go ahead and cook them. To cook the burgers, lightly grease a pan with oil and heat it up over medium heat. Cook the burger on either side for roughly 5-7 minutes or until the center is warm. Serve on your favorite bun with some mayo, cheese slices, and all your other desired fixings.
