Banana Zebra Cake [Vegan]

Cooking Time




  • 2 cups spelled flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened soy milk
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup rapeseed oil or coconut oil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or date syrup
  • 1/2 cup cocoa + 2 tablespoons unsweetened soy milk


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F top and bottom heat
  2. Grease loaf pan or baking paper
  3. Puree the banana in a blender or crush with a fork
  4. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl
  5. Then add the liquid ingredients and the banana and stir
  6. Split dough in half
  7. To one half, add the cocoa and soy milk
  8. Then place one tablespoon of light dough in the middle of the tin. Then add tablespoon tbsp of dark dough to the light dough.
  9. Repeat until the dough is used up to
  10. 50-60 minutes Bake
  11. Let cool. Cover the cake with chocolate
  12. Topping - walnuts and pistachios or the topping you like
