Fans of the NBA have likely noticed that over the past year, a heck of a lot of NBA players have been turning to plant-based diets to increase their health and overall longevity in athletics.
Not only have Kyrie Irving, Wilson Chandler, Jahlil Okafor, and more received press for their dietary choices, but Warriors’ player JaVale McGee is the latest to make headlines for his eating habits.
McGee first tweeted his interest in following a vegan diet in 2016, when he wrote: “What’s the first step to veganism?”
Since then, San Francisco Gate reports that McGee made the dietary switch and lost 15 pounds. McGee even recently made an appearance on fellow NBA player Kevin Durant’s YouTube channel, “Parking Lot Chronicles.”
Said McGee: “I’m vegan, guys… That’s why my physique is just so beautiful. Shout out to my vegan peoples out there.”
What’s McGee eating? According to this post by SB Nation, he’s chowing down on vegan chicken and waffles. Good choice, McGee.
