Alfie, the Vizsla, Becomes the Best Big Brother to Twins

Hungarian Vizsla

In April 2023, the Finn family from the Gold Coast, Australia, was overjoyed to welcome twins, Harper and Declan, into their lives. However, their excitement was accompanied by a concern that many new parents with pets share – how would their beloved dog, Alfie, react to the new additions to the family? Little did they know that this would mark the beginning of an extraordinary bond that went viral on TikTok.

Sinead Finn, the twins’ mother, expressed her initial worries to Newsweek, fearing that Alfie might find the twins a “big shock.” But as fate would have it, the arrival of Harper and Declan marked the start of something beautiful. Alfie, the loyal Vizsla, embraced his new role with remarkable grace and tenderness.

Then, on October 2, Sinead Finn shared a video of Alfie on her TikTok account (@sinead.finn_), captioned as “the bestest big brother.” The video quickly went viral, touching the hearts of millions online, accumulating over 1.9 million views and more than 180,000 likes.

Now, Alfie can be found watching over the twins wherever they go!

Sinead Finn hopes to convey the significance of involving family pets during significant life changes, such as the arrival of a new baby. She emphasizes, “While the arrival of a baby is an incredible and joyous occasion, it’s vital to continue providing love and attention to your pets. They are a part of your family too, and maintaining their wellbeing and happiness helps create a harmonious and loving environment for everyone. So, cherish the moments where your fur baby bonds with your little ones.”

The viral TikTok video has garnered over 1,500 comments, with many people praising Alfie for his gentle and protective nature. As one comment aptly puts it, “We don’t deserve them, but I swear they teach us to be better.”
