An adorable video of a sweet new golden retriever mom trying not to crush her newborn pups has gone viral on TikTok.
@gracies.goldens what a good momma. #goldenretriever #viral #golden #dogsoftiktok #puppies #goldenretrieverlife
The video shared by @gracies.goldens shows Leia, the new mom, can be seen sitting outside of the whelping box looking in at her babies. The whelping box is a container where many dogs give birth and where puppies can stay for the first few weeks of their life.
It’s clear that Leia wants to go in and lay with her babies, but the pups are all sprawled out on the floor, so she doesn’t have much room. Leia’s human comes to the rescue and moves some puppies over to the right side of the box so Leia can come in and feed them.
The video has already racked up over 1.6 million views and was captioned, “pups were spread out and momma didn’t want to squish them.” TikTok users gushed over the “best mama” and the adorable clip.
“Mommas like “great you just woke them up”!” one user commented
“Thanks Dad. I was trying to have a break and now I have to be a mum again,” joked another.
“That’s literally the most adorable vid I’ve seen today,” another wrote.
