TikToker Rescues Dog with Severe Case of Mange While Traveling in Mexico

While traveling through Mexico, this TikToker received a call that a stray dog nearby needed help. Not only had this dog named Finn been abused, but he was surviving all on his own with a severe case of mange. Mange is a skin disease caused by mites that is very uncomfortable for animals. Although Finn was very scared and distrustful when he first approached, he was able to get close enough to bring him to a nearby local animal shelter.

When they arrived at Los Adoptables, an animal shelter in Ensenada, Finn was able to enjoy his first proper meal in a long time. Despite Finn’s rough start in life, he was slowly able to start trusting people again.

When Finn’s original foster family decided not to adopt him, his rescuer stepped up and decided to take him in.

“When Finn’s original family backed out, something inside of me changed… It was like my heart/gut suddenly knew that I would end up keeping him, but the voices in my head didn’t. The walls started coming down. The vocabulary started to change. We got closer. My brother could see it in my eyes. And then one day, the words just spilled out, that I was “keeping Finn”. I’m so grateful that I listened to my heart in this moment. That I was able to silence all of the voices in my head that were doubting me… Trust your heart,” said Finn’s rescuer in an Instagram post.

Now, the two of them travel throughout the country and make a positive and meaningful impact everywhere they go by helping dogs in need. They do this by building a strong and passionate community to help Support their outstanding rescue work!
