Blue was stolen over a year ago and a kind stranger found him and brought him to a local shelter, thinking he was a stray. Blue had a microchip that matched him to Linda’s former house in California, Fox 17 reported.
The shelter, Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC), said that Blue was relatively calm at the shelter and the second he said Linda he was yelling and “immediately ran right to her.”
“When she came to the shelter today, Linda was so nervous wondering if Blue would remember her and all the hand signal commands she had taught him,” MACC wrote. “He remembered every hand signal. We were so happy today to get to play a part in this happy reunion. Congrats Linda and Blue.”
In a note, MACC shared the importance of microchipping pets and keeping registrations up to date, “Sometimes the impossible becomes possible and these stories have happy endings!”
