TikTok user @the_naturalist shares a list of products to avoid that she claims can make you age faster! Let’s dive into what these products are and what science has to say.
The first on her list to avoid is artificial sweeteners. Sweeteners such as aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose are unnatural and can decrease the lifespan of cells, making you age faster. Not to mention that “studies have convincingly proven that artificial sweeteners cause weight gain, brain tumors, bladder cancer, and many other health hazards.”
Next on her list is energy drinks. Not only are they high in sugar, but they are acidic and can damage your teeth which may age your smile. Their high caffeine and sodium content can also dehydrate the body.
Canola oil is another product that you can do without. When it is heated especially, it causes the canola oil to become rancid. As a result, free radicals in the body may be the result and may contribute to rapid aging and wrinkles.
Lastly, you should avoid nitrates and food preservatives in general. According to doctors, “sodium nitrate may damage your blood vessels, making your arteries more likely to harden and narrow, leading to heart disease.”
