This Poor Cat Was Returned to a Shelter Because She ‘Wanted to Cuddle’ at Night

A four-year-old cat named Ellie was surrendered by new humans because the cat ‘wanted to cuddle’. Then she went viral on Twitter.

The black and white cat in Virginia went viral on Twitter after user @revengegrill posted a picture of the cat and her information sheet.

“Yall. This is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. This cat was returned to the shelter because she wanted to cuddle her owners at night.”

The information sheet read, “I was returned because I wanted to sleep with my human at night and I wasn’t allowed to, so I would cry outside the bedroom door.”

The tweet has gone viral, with over 76,000 likes and over 10,000 retweets. Kate Balow, the owner of Meow Stories Central VA Cat Rescue told Fox News Digital that the viral tweet resulted in about 25 applications for the kitty. She scheduled to meet with potential adopters and wanted to make sure that Ellie was going to a good home.

“She’s a really pretty little black-and-white female,” said Balow. “She’s super friendly.”

Ellie originally came to Meow Stories after a shelter in West Virginia was too crowded to accept her, Balow also said.

Ellie was previously adopted by someone who had a cat allergy so the cat was banned from the couple’s bedroom, according to Balow.

Luckily, all changed for Ellie when she was finally adopted by a loving family! We hope that she is getting all of the love and cuddles that she wants and deserves now!
