This poor dog was found wandering the streets alone in the snow. When Modern Dog Trainer on TikTok spotted this girl, he immediately parked his car and tried to catch up with her. She was frightened at first and didn’t know who to trust anymore after most likely being abandoned by her previous owners.

After about an hour of playing cat and mouse, he finally caught up to her and caught her!

“She has no microchip and we cannot find her owner. She then made herself right at home with my dogs,” said her rescuer.

After doing everything they could to find her previous owner, unfortunately, no one has come forward. After waiting patiently, they finally decided to find her a foster home, with owners that would never even think about leaving her out in the cold. This girl now gets to live a long life in her warm and loving foster home with a new brother and sister!

“It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m going to miss her like crazy. But I know she’s in good hands,” said her rescuer.

This dog is not the only dog who has fallen victim to neglect and mistreatment. Many animals like her suffer at the hands of ignorant or unfeeling people. We can help educate our friends and neighbors about the proper way to care for our four-legged friends by simply starting a conversation and laying to rest the idea of human versus animal. If you see a fellow creature who is being treated the way this dog was, make sure to report it, and check out these rescue hotlines for a few places that could help. Together, we can start to change the world for dogs and all other animals!

@moderndogtrainer I’m grateful for my time with this amazing little dog. I will always love her. #dogtok #rescuedog #dogrescue #foreverhome #happyending #dogsofttiktok ♬ Right on Time – Brandi Carlile

No matter what the temperature is, windchill can threaten a pet’s life. Pets are sensitive to severe cold and are at risk for frostbite and hypothermia when they are outdoors during extreme cold snaps. Exposed skin on noses, ears, and paw pads can quickly freeze and suffer permanent damage. If there are outdoor cats, either owned pets or community cats (ferals, who are scared of people, and strays, who are lost or abandoned pets) in your area, remember that they need protection from the elements as well as food and water. It’s easy to give them a hand.

If you encounter a pet left in the cold, document what you see: the date, time, exact location, and type of animal, plus as many details as possible about the situation. Video and photographic documentation (even a cell phone photo) will help bolster your case. Then contact your local animal control agency or county sheriff’s office and present your evidence. Take detailed notes regarding whom you speak with and when. Respectfully follow up in a few days if the situation has not been remedied.
