Plant-based foods are taking over! Not too long ago, Beyond Meat, a vegan meat alternative company, announced a partnership between grocery store chain, Kroger, bringing their Beyond Burger to 1,300 grocery stores nationwide. If that wasn’t enough, you can also now enjoy the tasty burger while catching the latest flick at the movie theater. The Beyond Burger is now even available in the meat capital of the world: Hong Kong!
And now we have even more exciting news for all of you Beyond Burger fans! Just recently, Beyond Meat announced yet another a partnership, this time with Sysco!
As the largest food distributor in the U.S, Sysco sells and distribute food products to restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, and schools. This means that Beyond Meat’s delicious Beyond Burger will reach tens of thousands people thanks to the partnership, making healthier, plant-based burgers that are better for animals and the planet more accessible than ever.
If you’ve never heard of the Beyond Burger before, this vegan burger has been widely lauded for its spot-on meaty and juicy flavor and texture profile AND it actually “bleeds” beet blood when you make it. Additionally, each Beyond Burger patty boasts an impressive 20 grams of plant-based pea protein per patty, not to mention it contains no soy, gluten, or GMOs.
The popularity of Beyond Burger isn’t surprising. More people than ever are reducing their meat consumption and opting for plant-based options instead. A recent report by global market research firm Mintel shows that more people than ever are open to trying meatless burgers, a trend that is being driven largely by Millennials; 64 percent have tried meatless burgers versus 28 percent of Baby Boomers. With this in mind, making plant-based burgers readily available across the country with the help of Sysco is a pretty genius idea.
We are living in a time where the food space is rapidly evolving. The Beyond Burger is just one of the new innovations in the plant-based food space that is helping those who still crave the taste and texture of meat to cut back. Not only is Beyond Meat seeking to change the way Americans eat, they have their sights set on what may very well be a global food revolution.
We are so glad to see more plant-based options become accessible, showing yet again that the future of food is indeed plant-based. "tens of thousands of people"
I think you mean "tens of thousands of restaurant and food service establishments across the country", which is what the company\’s press release states. It\’s already available to probably millions of people.
Positive evolution in progress and, actually, acceptance of the inevitable. Huzzah!
Beyond meat I think is sponsored supported by Bill Gates. And then launched at the first Target stores only available there. And first started with chicken and now its meatless burgers which is great I can\’t wait to taste.😉
