Earlier this month, Animal Place liberated 2,000 hens from from their cages at an egg farm. We love hearing stories like this because we want all factory farming cages to be empty, with no animal suffering for the sake of human profit. Our friends at Animal Place are excellent at rescuing farm animals, and we’re grateful!
Check out this video from their recent hen rescue. You’ll see one hen’s first experience touching straw and dust-bathing in it. Can you imagine spending your life crammed into a tiny cage in the dark, and then finally taking a step onto grass? It would feel very liberating for us, and this hen touching its first bit of straw is no different.
As the video goes on, more hens enter the scene who have never seen or felt straw before. They sure do look happy now. Thank you, Animal Place!
