A Reddit user posted a heartbreaking story on the forum r/Vegan recently and told the community about how their dad made a meal for them and snuck meat into it.
The user explained that when their dad made them a meal, they noticed some weird things. They are vegan, so usually they cook all meals for themselves but there was something weird about the meal that their dad made them. The user explained that they noticed little pieces of meat and one very big piece of meat that had white-looking veins on it. The user said they felt so betrayed and didn’t know what to do.
“We also dont talk much so i’ll just probably just tell him i just “didn’t feel like eating it” or if im confident enough i will just confront him and ask why he did this. but i will never trust him again enough to eat foods he makes.”
The user went on to say that their parents never liked them being vegan and even once heard them joke about sneaking meat into their food discreetly. They said they kind of expected this to happen but they have been vegan since they were 10-11 years old because of childhood trauma. Even though their parents know why they refuse to eat meat, they still are trying to deceive them.
“He totally lost my trust and respect and im heartbroken. i now know that i can’t even trust my parents.”
It is never ok to lie and give someone food that they have explicitly told you that they don’t eat. What would you do if you were in this situation? Let us know in the comments below!
