Kat Von D Announces She Will Release a Vegan Shoe Line!

Will 2017 be the year of the vegan shoe? We hope so. In early January 2017, Birkenstock announced that they will be releasing an all-vegan line of their classic shoes, delighting the flower child/grunge kid/normcore fashion sense in all of us. Well, not it’s alternative fashion’s turn, because Kat Von D, has just announced an all-vegan shoe line!

Since she starting becoming more vocal about her plant-based lifestyle in late 2015, the tattoo artist, makeup mogul, model, and fashion icon has worked to reformulate her entire cosmetic line to be vegan. This move signaled her dedication to giving people what they want — which was, in this case, matte lips in all colors of the rainbow and an eyeliner that can make wings like daggers. She also released a cruelty-free perfume that comes in an intricate lighter-style bottle that will make you smell like sage and plum. While there are, sadly, no samples of the designs-to-come from Kat Von D’s newly teased shoe line, we can catch a glimpse of sketches of some of the killer heels in the video below.

From the looks of these sketches, Kat Von D’s shoe line is everything we could have hoped for from one of the queens of gothabilly aesthetic.

It looks like the shoes will have just the right balance of cute vintage flair with a touch of spooky — also, platform heels (yes!). There’s currently no release date, but we would start saving our pennies now. Hopefully, we’ll be able to clomp around in a pair of creepy-cute Kat Von D heels sometime this year.
