Bill Gates has a new book out! How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need details how to reduce Global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Gates lays out the importance of mitigating Climate change to help save lives across the world. His approach to reducing carbon emissions is laid out in a straightforward way, and references the sources of emissions into broad areas- making things, plugging in, and getting around.

“I wrote How to Avoid a Climate Disaster because I think we’re at a crucial moment. I’ve seen exciting progress in the more than 15 years that I’ve been learning about energy and Climate change. The cost of renewable energy from the sun and wind has dropped dramatically. There’s more public Support for taking big steps to avoid a climate disaster than ever before. And governments and companies around the world are setting ambitious goals for reducing emissions,” Gates shared on his blog.

He discusses big solutions in his book and focuses on government and business solutions to Climate change. “Realistically, getting to zero doesn’t mean we are going to stop doing the things we are doing—flying, driving, making cement and steel, or raising livestock. There’s a lot of opportunity to bring innovations to all of the sectors. And in aviation, in particular, there are exciting developments in alternative jet fuels. One of the key points I make in my book is that we also need the right combination of innovation and supportive policies in order to drive the massive transformation that’s needed to get the world to net-zero emissions,” he told Bloomberg.
