A group of fourteen abandoned bunnies discovered near a walking path at Belle Isle Marsh in East Boston has been given a second chance at a happy life. The discovery was made on Tuesday by vigilant animal control officers and compassionate bystanders, who quickly stepped in to rescue the domesticated rabbits scurrying around in the brush.
City of Boston Animal Care and Control emphasized that these rabbits, being domesticated, would not have survived in the wild. Moreover, the act of abandoning animals is deemed illegal in Massachusetts, adding a layer of concern for the well-being of these furry creatures.
Following their rescue, the rabbits have found refuge at MSPCA-Angell, where they are currently in good condition and adapting well to their newfound safety. Animal control officers note that these adorable bunnies are not only friendly but also ready for adoption, presenting an opportunity for caring individuals to provide them with loving forever homes.
