Dogs have an amazing gift for knowing when something is wrong. Their instincts are spectacular. It’s why dogs make such great heroes in different fields. There are rescue dogs, guide dogs, therapy dogs, dogs who detect illnesses or health conditions. And sometimes, a dog who just lounges at home and cuddles will also suddenly use his instincts to save a life. That’s what the adorable little Bowie recently did!

A woman named Cyndi Dawson shared the amazing story of how her little buddy saved the life of her mailman and friend, Bill. Her 10-pound Yorkshire Terrier and Bishon Frise mix named Bowie woke her up and barked and insisted that she head to the front door. She didn’t understand what was happening but can tell that he was trying to communicate something so she followed and found that the mailman was unconscious and had hit her car. He was fighting brain cancer and thanks to Bowie’s alert, she was able to get him help!

Bill and Bowie are good buds, according to Dawson. She’s very proud of his heroic actions that literally saved Bill’s life.

Bill, whose full name is William Morgan, told My Central Jersey that Bowie is “a great dog.” Dawson started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help raise money for Morgan’s medical bills.

She says, “I want to raise money to help him. I thought it was so incredible how my dog knew and went out of its way to get me outside to see what happened. I would never have found him out there if it wasn’t for my dog.”

Bowie is a hero, no doubt about it!
