Dogs are absolute heroes. There are countless stories of times they’ve helped people in need and saved lives. Just look at Hurley the pit bull who saved a little boy from a snake! Another hero is a dog named Midnight who saved an 87-year-old woman’s life after she fell during a snowstorm and was stuck. A few months ago, Adam Bavario’s rescue dog, Roxy saved his life when he had a heart attack!

In the video above, Bavario thanks the emergency responders who saved him as well as lovingly thanking Roxy. Bavario started having chest pains in his 30s, but was misdiagnosed as being perfectly okay. One day, he just knew he was having a heart attack because of the pain in his chest, but he collapsed as he reached for his phone.

Roxy is deaf, but her heroic instincts and powerful bond with Bavario alerted her to what was happening. She came from another room where she was and she licked and nudged him until she woke him up and he was able to call an ambulance. It turned out he was having a heart attack known as a widowmaker.

Watch the full video above to see Bavario’s emotional response to the situation and his deep gratitude for his wonderful rescue dog!
