What would we do without dogs? They save us almost as much, if not more than we save them. Some of these heroes include Roxy who saved her rescuer from a heart attack, Hurley who saved a boy from a snake, and Midnight who saved an 87-year-old woman who fell during a snowstorm. Carl, the precious pup in the video above was also a hero to his rescuer!

Drew Smith was looking to adopt a golden retriever, but at the shelter fell in love with Carl the moment he saw him. He just knew they were meant to be. Carl was timid and shy at first, barely even barking. That’s why a few months after saving him, Smith knew it was strange that Carl was barking so much.

Carl was clearly uncomfortable and worried throughout the day and trying to warn Smith. He was waking him up from his sleep, frantic, and thanks to Carl, Smith noticed the smoke and fire that started in the walls. Thanks to Carl, they made it out safely!
