Puppy Found on the Side of the Road Refuses to Leave Mother’s Side

Like humans, animals share a special bond with their mothers. For many, like orangutans and elephants, separation from their mother can be devastating. When they’re young, animals rely on their mothers for milk and protection. Mothers also teach their young how to survive, including how to eat.

This particular puppy was found on the side of the road by its mother, who had been in an accident and died. According to the video, the puppy had been there for days, refusing to leave the mom alone. Scared and alone, the small pup stayed with mom until rescuers arrived at the scene.

When the rescuers came, the puppy refused to be touched, curling into the corner at the shelter, hiding and refusing to eat. It took awhile for the small puppy to feel safe enough to begin eating, and eventually there were tail wags. Gaining the trust of the rescuers will take time, but it’s exciting to see the puppy is now receiving love and care.
