This woman was driving on the opposite side of traffic, on her way to go run some errands, when she miraculously spotted a cat on the side of the road, scared with nowhere to hide. This kind lady took note of the cat’s location and decided to investigate on her way home. When she finally arrived, she safely got out of her car and looked around some bushes to see if he was still hiding near there.

To her surprise, the scared cat was still there hiding behind a bush. At first, the cat started hissing at her, but the concerned woman was patient and determined to get the cat to a safer location.
“Her fur looks relatively healthy but it hides the fact that she is skin and bones. I can feel every bone in her body,” the woman said in the viral TikTok video. Once she got the cat to trust her, she was able to quickly pick him up and get her inside the car.

Although she was starving and malnourished, she could tell that she was so thankful to be saved. When they got home, she gave her some food and water and made some calls to get her set up with a local rescue group. The two of them instantly shared a bond. After discovering that she has no microchip, her rescuer is currently looking for someone to give her a forever, loving home.
“We’ve been calling her Arcy because that’s the name of the street overpass that I used to remember where to look for her on my way home from picking up the bed frame,” she explained.

Despite being abandoned and dumped on the site of the road, Arcy is still so trusting and affectionate with anyone she meets!
According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.1 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice a cat on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
