Petition: A Puppy Was Brutally Beaten and His Abuser Only Had to Pay a Fine

A puppy in Queensland allegedly cried, cowered, and desperately tried to escape while being violently struck, dragged across concrete, and shoved against a metal pole. The abuse was caught on video, and a court described the treatment as “absolutely outrageous.” Yet the punishment amounted to nothing more than a fine. No prohibition order was sought, even though Queensland law allows for stronger consequences. Animals are vulnerable beings who depend entirely on humans for safety and care.

This outcome is not acceptable. Authorities say the individual allegedly admitted to “disciplining” the puppy while acknowledging the treatment was excessive.
