A ship allegedly carrying around 4,000 sheep and goats from the United Arab Emirates to Somalia caught fire, and every animal aboard perished from smoke inhalation, burning, or drowning while all human crew members were rescued. This tragedy is not isolated. Live animal exports routinely subject animals to overcrowded enclosures, extreme temperatures, and little access to food or water, treating living creatures as cargo. You can demand change by signing this petition urging the UAE Ministry of Climate change and Environment to phase out live exports entirely.
Keeping animals in their home regions throughout their lifecycle is more humane and efficient than transporting them across oceans for slaughter. The UAE has an opportunity to lead a global shift away from this allegedly standard but deeply cruel industry. Add your name and join nearly 40,000 others who have already signed this petition calling for a permanent ban.
