Bebe, a German shepherd husky mix, is still waiting for his forever home after one year in a shelter with zero applications. Bebe arrived at The Animal Pad in San Diego and still has not received any interest. The poor pup had to have her back legs amputated after she spent months crammed in a cage before arriving at the shelter when she was one year old.

Bebe was left at a vet’s office when she was just three months old. Bebe then spent three months in a crate which deteriorated the muscle mass in her back legs. That’s when The Animal Pad heard about Bebe and saved her. She got a medical exam, and they concluded her back legs would need to be amputated. Bebe uses a wheelchair from Walkin’s Pets, who say that she quickly adapted to the wheelchair.
“She can race you in those wheels. A 3-miler is nothing for this girl! When she sees her ‘chariot’ being brought out, she knows it’s time for some fun,” The Animal Pad said in a statement.
Bebe has incontinence, so her new family will need to be ok to do regular cleanups and care. Bebe is looking for a foster home in the San Diego area or a forever home anywhere that is a good fit for her. To see Bebe’s profile and apply to adopt her, visit The Animal Pad’s website!
