The enormous amount of love and compassion that animals show for one another never fails to make me smile. This video of a dog mom fostering three abandoned kittens certainly does just that.

Three little orphaned kittens rescued by AnimalShelter Pickens are now enjoying the love their new foster mother, Mary, a loving dog who has taken in the kittens literally as three of her own. Sensing the kitten’s need for love and affection, the mother dog snuggles with the kittens and licks them just the same as she does her own puppies.

The kittens crawl around with puppies, curious as ever and thriving in their new-found home, clearly happy to have been taken in by such a loving animal. This video shows that there is little comparable to maternal instincts and compassion and we could all learn a little lesson about treating others the same as we would treat our own children, regardless of any difference.
