Little Pigalina is only three-weeks-old, but she is already making herself at home at PIGS Sanctuary in West Virginia. Orphaned by her mother, Pigalina was rescued by the sanctuary and has adopted Levi the pit bull as her new mother. Clearly, Levi is used to being crawled on by a slew of piglets, an occupational hazard of being the resident dog at PIGS.
Levi has also proven to be a doting caretaker to the other little piggies residing at the sanctuary, as shown in this article. The overwhelming protective and loving instinct shown by this special pitty transcends any species‘ specific boundary. Levi does not even flinch when Pigalina crawls onto her collar or roots around her ears.
Many people who have lived with piglets describe their personalities as being just like little puppies. We have certainly witnessed a number of pigs who think they’re dogs, and hey, if no one tells them differently, then why shouldn’t they act like goofy little pups?
