Ingredients You Need for Spicy Falafel Patty [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

  • 1 can of chickpeas, washed and drained
  • 4 tablespoons of curry paste or spicy spread of your choosing
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon of plain gluten-free flour
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of chili flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil for lightly frying

How to Prepare Spicy Falafel Patty [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

  1. Place all of the ingredients except the frying oil into a food processor/blender and whiz up until combined. This will take a few minutes.
  2. Pop into the refrigerator for around 1-2 hours.
  3. Heat a large frying pan along with 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil.
  4. Form the falafel mixture into small patties and place in the pan to cook. They will take around 3-5 minutes on each side. They'll turn a nice, golden color.
  5. Once cooked, place onto kitchen towel to drain off any excess oil.
