Vegan Carrot Cake Donuts... what a combo! The base of the donut is largely made from flour, protein powder, flax egg, carrots, and vegan cream cheese. The cream cheese in the mix keeps the donuts moist and also adds a lovely subtle flavor which combined with cinnamon and mixed spice is just such a good combo.

Cooking Time



For the Donuts: 

  • 1 ounce Wholemeal flour (or flour of your choice)
  • 1 ounce Protein Powder-vanilla works well
  • 1 tablespoon stevia sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.75 ounce grated carrots
  • 1 flax egg
  • teaspoon mixed spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons almond milk
  • A few vanilla drops or a teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ounce vegan cream cheese

For the Frosting:

  • 1.6 ounces vegan cream cheese
  • tablespoon liquid syrup of your choice


  1. Preheat the oven to 360°F
  2. Sieve the dry ingredients into a bowl and then mix in the wet ingredients
  3. Pour into a greased oven donut pan
  4. Bake for around 14 mins until golden on top
  5. Meanwhile, mix the cream cheese and syrup together for the frosting
  6. Remove the donuts from the oven and allow to cool
  7. Top with the frosting and any additional toppings you would like: coconut, walnuts and white chocolate stars work well!
