According to news from PETA UK, Domino’s will be unveiling a vegan pizza to UK residents in 2020. Rumors have been swirling that the chain is working on a vegan option.

PETA posted on their blog, “PETA’s corporate outreach team and others have been urging the company to offer vegan pizza for years, and we’re excited that the vegan domino effect has finally struck Domino’s, which will join Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, PizzaExpress, Zizzi, and other chains that offer delicious vegan options. It’s a vegan pizza chain reaction!” The news was posted on November 22, 2019.

Metro UK has also been following the news. A Domino’s spokesperson told the publication, “The rumours are true. We have been working hard to perfect a vegan recipe with the unmistakable taste of Domino’s fresh dough and cheesy goodness. ‘We’re not quite there yet, but vegan pizza lovers shouldn’t have to wait much longer.”

The pizza will include both a vegan base and vegan cheese. The company added vegan options in Australia earlier this year. 50% of Domino’s stores sold out of the plant-based beef options.

While we wait for Domino’s to unleash vegan options worldwide, other fast food companies have started offering vegan options to consumers. Burger King and Dunkin Donuts both offer plant-based items. KFC has also expanded into plant-based territory. Also, you can make your own vegan pizzas at home, here are some recipes:
