Copper Branch, a Montreal-based vegan eatery which is geared towards fast/casual dining, is set to open its first location in the United States! With over 30 locations in Canada, this chain will now be expanding, starting with the opening of their first U.S. location in the SOHO/Greenwich Village area of Lower Manhattan, a part of the city known for its trendy shops, galleries, and restaurants.

Rio Infantino, the CEO of Copper Branch, explains that the choice to expand to the U.S., starting with New York City was obvious. He says that, “New York City was a clear choice for our first U.S. location as it provides great visibility for the brand and is one of the world’s most recognized active and forward-thinking cities. Like our brand ethos, NYC epitomizes strong roots while simultaneously being dynamic and embracing the future.”

The first Copper Branch location opened in 2014 in downtown Montreal with a driven commitment to sustainability and food that is not only healthy and convenient, but delicious as well by offering staples like all-day breakfast items, power bowls, soups, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, fresh sides, salads, desserts, and even smoothies! In addition, they also offer products that are certified organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO, and use products and packaging that are environmentally responsible through their work with Rainforest Trust.

Infantino is proud to serve food that is sustainable, health conscious, and absolutely delicious. After gaining recognition by the plant-based and flexitarian community, Copper Branch is excited to branch out to more consumers. Infantino says, “We estimate that the vast majority of our customers simply want to eat real food that tastes great for a change! That is why serving great tasting, chef-inspired power foods is the key to our success. That is especially true in an area filled with top tier eateries like NYC.”

Copper Branch not only will be opening a location in Greenwich village, but hopes to eventually have over 80 locations by 2019!
