Chipotle has just announced the new release of its plant-based chorizo. Their vegan-friendly chorizo is their second vegan meat option and is being tested in their Denver and Indianapolis locations.
Chipotle made a statement saying, “Plant-based lifestyles have continued to accelerate in popularity, and as a longtime leader in the category, we are exploring ways to give more variety to our fans,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer. “We used real ingredients to create a plant-based protein with a deep, rich Chorizo flavor that can be enjoyed by everyone.”
This new menu item has been in testing for a year. As the chipotle team has carefully formulated the recipe to align with the brand’s food with integrity standards.
The chorizo is made with deep and bold flavors like everything else on their menu. And is grown in a farm not created in a lab. Because it includes ingredients like pea protein, tomato paste, olive oil, ancho chilies, and crushed garlic. It is completely vegan and made with real ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
In celebration of this new menu item launch. Chipotle will be offering a $0 delivery fee on all plant-based chorizo orders that are ordered through their Chipotle app. This offer will be available from August 19th to August 29th.
This is an exciting release and makes us hope that Chipotle plans on developing even more delicious plant-based options in the near future.
