Cadbury is finally releasing their very first vegan chocolate bar, called the Cadbury Plant Bar! They will be available in Sainsbury’s starting in November.
This new bar is made with almond paste instead of milk, giving the bars a sweet and nutty flavor with all of that familiar creaminess.
Louise Stigant, the Managing Director of Mondelez UK, Cadbury’s parent company, said, “With 500,000 participants in this year’s Veganuary. Double the number of participants from the year before. The increasing public appetite for varied snacking options and plant-based alternatives has never been more apparent.”
The company dedicated two years of research to creating this plant-based chocolate bar. They tried to find a dairy and nut-free option, but settled on just a dairy-free alternative, as they couldn’t achieve the same results without almonds.
Many other confectionery brands are also adding vegan options to their lines as the demand for dairy-free alternatives is grows. Hopefully, there are even more to come.
