On August 2, 2021, Baskin-Robbins announced the release of their Non-Dairy Salted Fudge Bar ice cream! The new flavor features a salted dark chocolate oat milk base paired with a fudge ribbon and fudge pieces. The release of this new chocolatey flavor comes after the company released their oat milk-based Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel ice cream for the May Flavor of the Month!
Before these oat milk-based treats arrived, the chain had other non-dairy options. In 2019, Baskin-Robbins launched their first non-dairy vegan-friendly ice creams, with the Non-Dairy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Non-Dairy Chocolate Extreme flavors. The brand plans to continue working with an oat milk base for future ice creams.
Upon the release of the first oat milk-based flavor, Shannon Blakely, Vice President of Marketing & Culinary at Baskin-Robbins, commented, “We’re a brand that’s all about creating new flavor experiences and with so many people living plant-based or flexitarian lifestyles today, we couldn’t be more excited to launch our new oatmilk-based option.” She continued, “We’re so passionate about this new base and Flavor of the Month as it’s not just an evolution of our offerings, but a sign of our passion and commitment to creating what’s ‘next’ in frozen desserts.”
