Someone petting a cat

Hanah Hueston, an animal control officer in Illinois, was dispatched for an injured cat. Once she made her way to the spot where she was seen, she successfully got her into a carrying case and brought her back to the shelter, administering fluids and giving her a warm place to rest. The poor girl was so weak and wobbly that she had trouble standing up and walking on his own.

Hueston also discovered that she had developed flea dander, which means that she will have to be treated for fleas. Fleas produce flea dirt after they’ve been on an animal long enough to bite them and consume their blood. Usually, cats are bathed in a specially formulated flea shampoo and given medication to kill fleas on contact. Hueston gave her food, water, and a flea pill to alleviate the symptoms making her itchy and uncomfortable. She started eating right away, and she could tell she was so grateful to be taken care of. Hueston also gave her some stuffed animals to comfort her on her first night in an unfamiliar place.

In an update video, Hueston reassured her followers that although she has no major improvements to report, she’s getting a little better with each passing day. She has continued to give her lots of fluids and reports that her appetite is growing, which will help her regain his strength.

After only two weeks, she has almost fully regained her strength and can walk with complete confidence again. She has even started exploring the shelter and loves making her way into the office for pets, and head scratches from everyone.

According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice a cat on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
