Most would agree that the Disneyland experience is a magical one. Unfortunately, for the horses forced to pull heavy carriages down Main St. USA, their experience is hardly magical.

These horses pull heavy loads of visitors all day, surrounded by loud crowds and noise – an environment that is completely overwhelming for a horse. The cruelty behind the horse carriage industry has been repeatedly highlighted and protested by animal lovers, yet many facilities continue to use these animals for human entertainment. The Care2 Petition team is standing up for these forgotten animals with a petition urging The Walt Disney Company to bring horse-drawn streetcars to an end.

As prey animals, horses startle easily and no amount of training can completely rid them of this natural tendency. The chaotic environment of Disneyland is not only stressful but dangerous. There have been numerous documented cases of horses getting spooked and overturning their carriages, seriously injuring passengers or themselves.

It is a heartbreaking situation and certainly no life for an innocent horse! Sign the petition to show your Support of ending cruel horse-drawn streetcars at Disneyland.

Disneyland has proven to have some compassion towards their horses. They do have shorter work hours and live on a ranch outside of work – but why stop there? The times have changed and the days of exploiting animals for human entertainment are becoming more and more taboo. Disneyland has so much to offer in terms of entertainment, this act is completely unnecessary and they would likely gain more by ending it than keeping it.
