Doesn’t it just melt your heart when a dog smiles? Well, this sweet old girl named Ethel hadn’t had anything to smile about for a long time and seemed to have given up on being rescued. However, the wonderful people at Stray Rescue of St. Louis brought that smile back and it’s one of the most grateful ones we’ve ever seen!
Ethel was found lying outside of a storefront with a skin infection wreaking havoc on her sensitive skin. Her rescuers packed her up and headed back to the shelter. Ethel smiled the whole way there, almost as if she knew things were about to get better. Indeed they were, this sweet pup’s skin is healing and her beautiful coat will be back soon!
Stray Rescue of St. Louis is on a mission to rescue as many strays as possible, restore them back to health, and place them in loving forever homes. Most of these strays have been abused, neglected, and dumped on the streets. Rescued animals often make the most loyal pets and simply want a second chance at a loving home. Senior dogs also make great adoptable pets – not only are they a lot more chill, they are loyal, and usually already housetrained. If you are looking for a sweet, senior dog to adopt, Ethel may be your match made in heaven!

Ethel is a beauty and I wish I could adopt her. Tow dogs, 3 cats, and 2 birds say that it would not be so good though. She will get a great home though thanks to these fine and caring people.
