Nothing fills our heart more than successful animal rescue stories, and this emotional rescue of a senior homeless dog in India has us reaching for a tissue.
The gentle dog was spotted motionless and huddled in a ball on the street. What was left of her fur was matted, and her skin was covered in painful wounds and scabs from a severe case of mange. Her spirit had been crushed, she refused to eat, and it appeared she had given up all hope of life.
Kind rescuers at Animal Aid Unlimited, a non-profit organization in India dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating homeless animals, brought the dog they named Helen into their care facilities. After receiving treatment to help with the mange, Helen began to eat and show signs of a will to live. They treated her scabs with soothing lotion and administered an IV to combat her dehydration. After several days, her scabs had fallen off and her energy levels increased, and after several months, her coat had grown back and she became a complete bundle of joy!
Now a stunning strawberry blonde, this sweet senior dog is living it up at the Animal Aid Unlimited sanctuary, where she enjoys cooling off in the pool and cuddling with her caretakers.

GREAT SOULS AT ANIMAL AID UNLIMITED.
Such a transformation. India needs a serious land for spaying/neutering. Animal\’ Aid\’s space always feels so peaceful and the caring is obvious. Helen is kneed old but at least she will live out her years in comfort and with love. I gave them money last year and will do so again. I wish i could give to all the rescuers to help them but with s many animas in need it is obviously not possible.
