Senior Dog Gets His Steps in on Treadmill!

Pedro, an 8-year-old golden retriever in Imperial Valley, California, has become an internet sensation for his unique approach to staying active. With temperatures soaring in Southern California, Pedro has found a clever solution to beat the heat and keep up with his exercise regimen: his owner’s treadmill.

Will Whittle, Pedro’s human, introduced him to the treadmill routine as a puppy, a training that took merely five minutes. Guided by Whittle, Pedro quickly adapted to the pacing, making the treadmill his go-to spot for burning off excess energy. Eli McCann, Whittle’s nephew, shared a clip of Pedro’s treadmill antics on social media, which captured the attention of animal lovers everywhere.

Pedro’s treadmill walks not only fulfill his daily exercise needs but also serve as a poignant reminder of cherished memories. McCann recalls how Pedro’s walks with his late grandmother, who used the treadmill for her own exercise routine, were a special bonding time. Though Pedro still looks for his beloved grandma, who passed away recently, he continues to hop onto the treadmill, ready for his daily stroll.
