A rescued Belgian Malinois named Indy has stolen the spotlight with her playful antics at a local dog park. Captured in a video shared on TikTok by her human, Andrea Begazo, Indy is seen charmingly engaging with fellow male canines, earning her the affectionate title of “flirt.”

Indy, a six-year-old rescue from the Los Angeles City East Valley Animal Shelter, has had a tough life. She was abused for breeding, resulting in hip dysplasia and weight gain, before being abandoned. Despite her past, Indy is known for her loving nature. Her story is a stark reminder that animal abuse is a real issue, with the Humane Society of the United States citing that offenders are usually men under 30.

After four months in the shelter, Indy was adopted by Begazo in late 2021. She arrived missing her front teeth, likely due to chewing on chains or from previous abuse, and showed signs of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with fear reactivity and anxiety.

The viral video of Indy at the park has sparked various reactions, with some users expressing joy at her newfound friendships while others expressing concern about the presence of numerous off-leash, unfixed dogs.

Through her TikTok account, which boasts over 110,000 followers, Begazo uses snippets of Indy’s life to raise awareness for rescue dogs, encouraging others to consider adopting animals in need. She believes every dog deserves a loving home and a chance to play freely in the park, just like Indy.
