Losing a beloved pet is never easy, but opening your home to a rescue animal in need is a heartwarming way to honor their memory. Queen Camilla knows this well, and she’s just welcomed a new furry friend into the royal family. According to The Daily Mail and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Her Majesty has adopted an 8-week-old Jack Russell Terrier cross named Moley, an affectionate little pup with a name that suits her perfectly.

Queen Camilla has been a longtime advocate for animal welfare and a dedicated patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, the UK’s beloved rescue center. Her newest addition, Moley, was rehomed after the loss of her previous rescue dog, Beth, last November. The Queen’s other dog, Bluebell, was also adopted from Battersea, proving her ongoing commitment to giving animals a second chance.

During a recent royal engagement, Queen Camilla couldn’t help but gush about her new pup. While petting a Labrador guide dog, she happily shared that Moley is “a bit of everything” and joked that the little dog “looks just like a mole.” Moley was born on Boxing Day, and while her mother is half Jack Russell, her father’s breed remains a mystery—adding to the charm of this lucky pup’s rescue story.

This royal adoption is more than just a feel-good moment—it’s a reminder of the importance of choosing adoption over shopping for pets. Every year, countless dogs and cats wait in shelters for loving homes, just like Moley did. If you’re looking for a way to Support rescue animals, consider adopting, fostering, or volunteering at your local shelter. Organizations like Battersea Dogs and Cats Home make a world of difference, and so can you!
