Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is not just all about royal duties and formal events. He recently showed a fun and down-to-earth side by teaming up with the popular British YouTube channel, Sorted Food, to promote the Earthshot Prize and its mission to repair and restore the planet. The surprising and heartwarming encounter took place on a food truck where Prince William handed out eco-friendly plant-based burgers to amazed customers.

Sorted Food, a YouTube channel created by Benjamin ‘Ben’ Ebbrell, Michael ‘Mike’ Huttlestone, Jamie Spafford, and Barry Taylor, has gained immense popularity, amassing nearly 1 billion views and boasting 2.7 million subscribers.

The Earthshot Prize, an initiative started by Prince William two years prior, aims to find and promote solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental issues. In the video, the Sorted Food hosts used products from the Earthshot Prize’s recent winners, showcasing clean and energy-efficient stoves and biodegradable food packaging while serving their plant-based Earthshot Burgers.

With a sense of humor, Prince William arrived at the Sorted Food kitchen, surprising Barry Taylor with boxes of ingredients. Light-hearted banter ensued when Taylor pretended to struggle with the weight of the vegetables, and the Prince playfully teased him about going to the gym. This display of camaraderie set the tone for the rest of the video, where Prince William passionately spoke about the Earthshot Prize’s purpose and the urgency to take action in repairing the planet.

Later, Prince William joined the Sorted Food crew on their food truck to serve customers. The unsuspecting customers were in for a delightful surprise when they saw the future king of England personally preparing and handing out their burgers. As he emphasized the Earthshot Prize’s mission to repair and restore the planet, the customers were left in complete shock and awe.

The Earthshot Burgers and the Earthshot Prize itself received nothing but positive feedback from the patrons. Notably, Prince William’s involvement in the initiative is not new. Last year, he and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended The Earthshot Prize ceremony at MGM Music Hall in Boston, Massachusetts, marking their first tour to the U.S. since 2014.

At the prestigious event, the couple walked the green carpet together, and Prince William delivered a powerful speech, expressing his belief that the Earthshot solutions showcased at the ceremony can overcome the planet’s greatest challenges. He stressed the importance of supporting and scaling these solutions to secure a better future for all.

Prince William’s dedication to promoting environmental sustainability through the Earthshot Prize is commendable. By leveraging his royal status and collaborating with influencers like Sorted Food, he brings attention to crucial issues while engaging with a broader audience, including the YouTube community.
