All across the U.S., animal shelters and rescue groups are working around the clock to make sure the animals in their care have food, water, shelter, medical treatment, and plenty of love. Often working solely on volunteer donations, rescuers are doing the best they can with the little they have, helping to save animals from unimaginable animal abuse. It’s an exhausting, but rewarding task and we have just the story to prove it.
In October, we shared the story of Sophia, who was just 7-months-old at the time of her rescue. This sweet girl was left at a shelter when her guardians couldn’t afford to treat her severe mange any longer. Thankfully, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, a volunteer and foster based rescue group based in New York, got Sophia out of the shelter and into their care as soon as they could.
Sophia is a shining example of why rescue work is so important: with just a little bit of love, an animal’s life can be completely turned around. Because of the help she received, Sophia now has a future – one full of love and the best care she can get!
