Pit Bull Who Saved Child’s Life Is Now Sick and Needs Our Help to Survive!

Author Bio

I am a writer and illustrator living in Poland.

Years ago, Diamond did something her family never forgot and never stopped being grateful for. The beloved Pit Bull saved her family’s young son’s life when he stopped breathing by waking up the family just in time. Out of love and need to guard her human family, Diamond did the most incredible thing and became a hero – but now it is her life that is in danger and she needs all the help she can get.

Diamond’s family is one of many that face financial difficulties and are unable to pay the bills for medical treatment of their precious pets once they are in need. When they found out that Diamond is very ill and needs urgent vet care, they reached out to Second Chance Rescue NYC. The dog is suffering from a severe skin infection. Her belly is extremely extended and her lymph nodes are swollen – and she is in much pain.

Diamond was sent for an initial exam where she got medication for her skin – but she still has to have an ultrasound and MRI.

Her condition is alarming – weak and unable to eat, she is feared to be in imminent danger. But her family and the rescuers are determined to do everything to help this precious and loving dog.

Diamond is a special dog who has proven herself to be completely devoted to her family – now she is in urgent need of further medical treatment. “This family is praying for a miracle and we want that to happen today,” the rescue team writes. “We are reaching out to the community and ask that we all come together to make a difference in the life of Diamond and her family.”

You can make a donation to help Diamond via the rescue’s website.

  1. I\’m having a problem with the fact that I own 2 pit bulls and would never allow their skin to get an infection that severe and not do anything until it\’s life threatening. How can they claim to love the dog so much and let her get in that condition before doing something about it! I feel very sorry for the dog, but not the people, they let her get that way because of neglect. It doesn\’t happen overnight!
