America’s Largest Mall Is Getting a Vegan Burger Joint and People Are Freaking Out

The Mall of America, America’s largest mall located in Bloomington, Minnesota is about to get a welcomed addition! San Antonio-based vegan fast food restaurant, Earth Burger, is expanding and will soon open a location on Level 3 in the south end of the mall in early 2018. More accessible plant-based options!? Yes, please!

As Earth Burger’s first location outside of Texas, the fast food joint will serve up their signature “Earth Burger.” According to the restaurant’s website, the tasty burger includes, a beefy plant-based patty on a whole wheat bun with their secret sauce, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. 

Earth Burger also dishes out a chick-n protein wrap: a whole wheat wrap filled with kale salad, grilled chick-n, olives, and hummus. Drool! 

Other entrées include a fish-less sandwich, a chopped BBQ sandwich, as well as gluten-free offerings. All are 100 percent vegan and contain no hydrogenated oils or artificial colors!

The response from mall patrons has been overwhelmingly positive with many saying they can’t wait to try Earth Burger once it opens in Mall of America! 

Earth Burger is a true testament to the growing popularity of plant-based food. In the past, vegan options at fast food and grab-and-go spots were few and far between. But these days, consumers are moving away from meat and dairy while also seeking out less processed foods. This new shift not only caters to vegans, it also provides healthy options for those who want to reduce their consumption of animal products, whether it be for health, environmental, or animal welfare reasons.

Recent studies have shown that around one-third of Americans are choosing to leave meat off their plates more frequently and a 2015 survey by market analyst Mintel found that 61 percent of consumers say they enjoy menu items that heavily feature vegetables – sounds like Earth Burger and Mall of America are giving consumers exactly what they want!
