Madison Faith, a pet groomer, recently shared a video to TikTok recounting her last words to one of her oldest clients. Charlie was a 15-year-old Sheltie who Madison had been grooming since she began her career. Sadly though, Charlie was beginning to show his age. He was losing weight and barely eating or walking. His people brought him into Madison for one last grooming.

In her video, she shows Charlie receiving a “comfort groom.” This means that the groomer gave him lots of breaks and he was able to lay down for most of the process. Madison did her best to pamper the beloved pup. However, when she returned him to his owner at the end of his grooming, she was at a loss. His groomer had always bid farewell to Charlie with the phrase “I’ll see you next time Charlie.” So, rather than saying goodbye, Madison chose to end Charlie’s final grooming with the same phrase. “I’ll see you next time Charlie,” she told him as she returned him to his mom. Understandably, this made viewers emotional. “Why can’t they live as long as us?” asked one comment.
