In March 2026, New Jersey authorities rescued 32 dogs found abandoned in open cages across multiple townships, exposed to torrential freezing rain with no food or water. Three people were taken into custody for allegedly orchestrating the mass abandonment, possibly to conceal what some suspect was an illegal operation such as a puppy mill. Two dogs did not survive. The scattered locations suggest a deliberate attempt to obscure the connection between the abandonments. Please sign the petition urging the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office to pursue a lifetime animal ownership ban for all three individuals, and do it now at Sign the petition now before this case fades from public attention.

New Jersey currently caps animal cruelty sentences at six months, which animal advocates argue does almost nothing to deter future abuse. These dogs deserve better than that, and so does every animal who comes after them. Add your name at Sign the petition now and demand real accountability.
