As Green Monsters, we are constantly scouring the news and social media for breaking stories about animals. Whether it’s a story about a farm animal rescued from life in a factory farm, a new potential ban on the use of animals for cosmetic testing, or the shut down of a puppy mill operation, if it has to do with animals we want to know! The problem is, when we look at mainstream media outlets these types of stories are rarely – if ever – covered.

This is where badass animal hero, Jane Velez-Mitchell steps in. Nationally known as a TV and multi-media journalist, she launched the website, Jane Unchained, to give a voice to the many voiceless members of our society. Talking about everything from marine captivity issues to cruelty to farm animals, Jane’s mission is to pick up where mainstream media leaves off to help raise awareness for the Animal rights movement.

But Animal rights isn’t the only thing this courageous media star is looking to tackle, she also calls attention to crimes against people and the environment, because as we know, it’s all connected!
