Jane Goodall & Leonardo DiCaprio to Produce Live-Action Film from Animal’s Perspective

A new film promises a fresh perspective on the natural world. “Howl,” an upcoming production from Promethean Pictures, executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and environmentalist Jane Goodall, ventures into uncharted territory, telling the tale of survival and unlikely friendship from the viewpoint of its animal protagonists.

At the helm of this ambitious project is director E. Elias Merhige, known for his work on “Shadow of the Vampire,” with a screenplay penned by Christopher Monger, the creative mind behind “Temple Grandin.” Set against the unforgiving backdrop of a harsh winter, “Howl” follows the journey of Harry, an abandoned family dog, thrust into a fight for survival after being left home alone following a tragic accident. Harry’s path intersects with that of a young wolf, and what ensues is a gripping narrative of overcoming fear and forging an unexpected bond in the face of adversity.

While the story is centered on its animal protagonists, human characters will also play a role, with casting announcements to follow. The film’s cinematography, led by Doug Allan of “Frozen Planet” fame, promises to capture the raw beauty of the natural world, providing audiences with a visually stunning experience.
